Shmuel Smatzo Golima, 48, was a police officer, husband and father of three remembered for his heart of gold and lifelong commitment to helping people in need. Born in Ethiopia, he moved to Israel at age eight and later served the Sderot community, including caring for Holocaust survivors and disadvantaged families. On October 7, Shmuel rushed to the Sderot police station as Hamas terrorists attacked and was killed fighting to protect others.
