Sofia (Muriel) Bongart, 21, of Karmiel, was a beloved daughter and big sister who was especially close to her younger sister. Her family remembered her as loving, responsible and deeply devoted to the people around her. On October 7, Sofia attended the Supernova festival with her best friend, Liraz Nisan. As they tried to escape, they sought refuge in a roadside bomb shelter near Kibbutz Be’eri. Sofia sent her mother a final message expressing her love and gratitude for her parents. Sofia and Liraz were both murdered in the shelter. Her family remembers the love she gave them and the bond she shared with those closest to her.
