Tamar “Tami” Suchman
76 years old
Kibbutz Be’eri
Tamar “Tami” Suchman, 76, was a longtime member of Kibbutz Be’eri and a mother whose final hours were spent in contact with her family. When the October 7 attack began, Tami entered her safe room and called relatives. Her son Ben urged her to hold the door handle shut so terrorists could not enter, and she held it with all her strength for as long as she could. Her family initially believed she had been abducted and held onto hope. Tami is remembered by the family and community whose voices surrounded her even during the terror of that morning.
