Kibbutz Nahal Oz
Shlomo Ron, 85, was one of the founders of Kibbutz Nahal Oz, where he worked as a locksmith and took an active part in the kibbutz’s cultural life as an actor and singer. On October 7, his wife, two daughters and grandson hid in the family safe room as Hamas terrorists entered their home. Shlomo sat visibly in his living room, apparently hoping the attackers would believe he was alone. They murdered him and then left the house, sparing his concealed family. His final act saved the lives of four members of his family.
