Varda Haramati
80 years old
Kibbutz Re’im
Varda Haramati, 80, was a longtime member of Kibbutz Re’im who remained remarkably active and independent. Her grandson remembered her as sweet, loving and compassionate — a larger-than-life grandmother who loved life, traveled widely and worked at the kibbutz factory until her final day. She rode her bicycle each morning, visited friends, went shopping in Netivot and enjoyed plays and movies. Her family said Varda walked through the kibbutz “like a queen,” proud of the community that was her home. She was murdered in her home on October 7.
