Vivian Silver, 74, was a Canadian-born Israeli peace activist, feminist leader, mother and grandmother who lived in Kibbutz Be’eri. She was active in Women Wage Peace and Road to Recovery, through which volunteers drove sick Palestinians from Gaza to Israeli hospitals. On October 7, Vivian was murdered in her home as she exchanged final messages with her son. Because her remains were not identified for more than a month, her family initially believed she had been abducted to Gaza.
