Yael Leibushor, 20, of Ge’a, was an observation soldier who deeply loved nature and the desert and dreamed of hiking the Israel Trail. When the Hamas attack began on October 7, Yael calmly reported the infiltration, directed troops and warned local security teams while remaining at her post at the Nahal Oz base. She continued working until terrorists threw grenades into the war room, killing her.
