Yakir Blohman, 33, of Dimona, was a police detective, devoted husband and father of two remembered as a total family man who was always helping others. When he learned of the Hamas invasion on October 7, he immediately headed south. Yakir repeatedly returned to the fighting area to rescue wounded people, saving officers and civilians. He was killed after an RPG struck the armored police vehicle he was traveling in near Kibbutz Re’im.
