Ylena Kostizin, 78, of Ofakim, was an older resident of the southern city whose life was taken in her own home on October 7. Public memorial sources currently preserve very little about her work, family, interests or earlier life, but they ensure that her name and age are remembered individually. Ylena was among the civilians killed when terrorists entered Ofakim that morning. She is remembered as a member of the Ofakim community and as one of the elderly victims whose homes, which should have been places of safety, became scenes of the attack.
