Yuri, 63, and his wife Svetlana, 61, were natives of Lysychansk, Ukraine, who moved to Israel more than 25 years ago and settled in Ashdod. Their family remembered them as loving grandparents who enjoyed cooking, traveling, cycling, hosting friends and spending time together. On October 7, they went on an early-morning fishing trip to Zikim Beach. Both were murdered there and remained missing for more than a week before their bodies were identified.
